StratusIQ constructs Fiber-to-the-Premise infrastructure to deliver internet, TV, and phone service to both residential and commercial developments. This is an opportunity to lead our Outside Plant team of an established but growing company in the exciting telecom industry. 

Position Title:  Outside Plant Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

General Description: Lead and direct engineering, construction and project management personnel, inventory, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering, construction and project management personnel (personal development, annual reviews, etc.) ensuring that staff is fully engaged and properly trained.
• Lead completion of fiber design, construction, activation, change and troubleshooting/repair activities.
• Ensure teams are equipped with software and tools, managing sunsetting applications and migrations to new.
• Responsible for creation and management of construction RFPs, contracts, bids and walkthroughs.
• Oversee and audit purchase orders and/or work orders.
• Coordination of all activation activities across engineering and construction.  
• Oversee site surveys, validation and quality assurance processes of fiber construction builds, damage repairs and other plant work.
• Ensure ‘as built’ and plant design documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
• Ensure that estimating models are accurate and applicable.  
• Build relationships cross-functionally with Sales/Marketing, Finance and Operations teams.
• Responsible for fleet and site management.  

Skills and Attributes:

• In-depth knowledge of telecommunication plant, fiber, power, equipment, construction and tool safety. 
• Technically savvy with experience in CAD software or other GIS platforms for fiber design and splicing documentation.
• Must be a problem solver and demonstrate the ability to pivot.
• Must be able to train and develop best practices in engineering, construction and project management.
• Able to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and use good judgment.
• Punctual, regular and consistent attendance. Must be able to work flexible days and hours, including overtime, weekends, and evenings per business needs.
• Able to work outside, on roadsides, lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Presentable to customers and able to represent the company in the field to developers and contractors.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have at least 5 years of underground telecom experience (fiber plant including engineering, construction, locating, splicing, testing).
• Must have at least 2 years hands-on experience with GIS systems including fiber design and documentation.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a manager, developing and building cohesive teams.
• Must have quality control and quality assurance experience.
• OSHA 10 certified.
• Contract management experience required.
• Previous experience with fiber plant.
• High School Graduate with relevant post high school education or training.
• Clean criminal and driving record.
