As August 2019 came to a close, many of our TV service competitors took a hard stance on their contract renewal of our local sports channel, Altitude Sports & Entertainment. Ending a 15-year partnership with this network, they have now blacked out their customers’ option to view many of their beloved sports teams only viewable on this channel.
Our competitors know that standing together on this matter will result in many unhappy customers who purchase cable TV from them. Yet the consumers will not see any discounts on what is paid to these providers. And they will continue to pay a monthly channel fee and regional sports surcharge without receiving the service.
Television Services: Something for everyone
Altitude Sports began in 2004 and is the most-watched regional sports network in the Rockies, seen in homes within a 10-state territory. It was created by Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Rapids owner, Stan Kroenke, to give area sports fans the most comprehensive regional sports network in the Rocky Mountains. No matter what sport, Altitude Sports has something for everyone; basketball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, extreme, outdoors, boxing, cycling, high school sports, college sports, and professional sports.
Won’t follow their lead
StratusIQ knows the value of carrying these channels in our TV Service packages for our customers, ensuring we are, and always will be, a long-time supporter of our regionally-broadcast sports channels because we know what it means to our customers to provide these channels at a reasonable monthly cost.

There are many ways you can let your voice be heard on this issue. One would be to let your current TV provider know of your displeasure by switching to your local provider. One that values your viewing habits and our regional sports teams.
